Dr Scott Waghorn
Hi! I am originally from Palmerston North. I moved to Auckland after graduating from Otago and early last year purchased the practice from Keith Nelson. The practice has since been rebranded as DentalCare West. With the practice came a special group of people who make it a fun place to work.
I enjoy all aspects of dentistry, especially treating children, orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry.
When I am not at work I like to enjoy spending time with my wife Rach and our friends. I also play golf and enjoy playing backyard cricket.
Dr Dean Paddy
I qualified in 1967 from Otago University. I completed 3 years hospital work in New Zealand, followed by nearly 20 years in London where I owned and worked 2 large practices.
On my return to New Zealand in 1987 I started working for Keith Nelson & Associates and have enjoyed being part of the team since.
I am now only working part-time, 3 mornings per week, but still very much enjoy dentistry and the staff in this large practice.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time in my garden or with my children and grand children.
Dr Stela Dimitrova
I was born in Bulgaria and qualified as a Dental Surgeon from the University of Sofia in 1985.
I emigrated to NZ via USA in 1999 with my husband and son. We love New Zealand very much and are very proud to call New Zealand our home.
I enjoy all aspects of dentistry. My biggest joy is being able to help my patients regain their beautiful smile.
I have a large tropical fish aquarium at home which keeps me busy when I am not working.
Dr Rumi Lee
I graduated from Otago Dental School in 2006 with a great passion for dentistry and have been working in Auckland ever since. I love dentistry for its versatility, challenges, and also for the people I work with.
To keep improving my skills in dentistry to high standards, I often attend courses in the latest technologies.
I am particularly interested in minimally invasive dentistry with the focus on protection and preservation.
In my spare time I like spending time with my family and friends. I really enjoy a bit of retail therapy from time to time as well.
Administration
Your initial contact with DentalCare West will be with one of our friendly adminstration and reception staff, Tanya, Wendy and Denise. They create a relaxing environment and make you feel totally at ease. They will welcome you into our practice, make your appointment and answer any questions you may have.
Our services include reminder phone calls for appointments and we run a recall system for our patients by sending out an appointment reminder, for either 6 or 12 months, for both the dentist and the hygienist.
Jo Anne Tucker, our Practice Manager, is always on hand to assist with any queries you may have.

Clinical Dental Assistants
Assisting the Dentists are our clinical dental assistants. These young ladies are an integral part of our dental team. Each are certified and trained by us.
As well as assisting the dentist and running impeccable cleaning and sterilisation procedures, they will create a relaxing environment for you. They are a great bunch of girls and are committed to helping patients feel at ease.

Hygienist
Your visit to our hygienist will include a combination of diagnostic, preventive and educational therapies. She will assess and evaluate your periodontal (gum) tissue and treat you in a gentle and caring manner.
Your hygienist will make your teeth sparkle. She will also provide advice on how to maintain your teeth and gums at home to help you keep that perfect smile.
Our goal is to keep your gums and teeth healthy.
