Prevention

Prevention is the cornerstone of modern dentistry.

The old days of "extension-for-prevention" or drilling out teeth and putting in fillings are long gone. My Mum and Dad had their teeth drilled to pieces when they were young.  And growing up I used to often hear during teatime. "Ohh no! I just broke my tooth!"

These days we have many products and techniques available to "remineralise" or "harden" teeth that are beginning to decay. And therefore minimise the pain and cost of major dentistry.

We recommend:

  • Brushing twice daily for 2 minutes with a soft-bristle tooth brush.
  • Flossing once per day.
  • Having your teeth professinally cleaned by our hygienist Jessie two times a year.
  • Having an annual checkup with your dentist.
  • If you do this you will make it very hard for bugs and acid to damage your teeth.
